I took a break from social media for a while while I was visiting my family for a month on the east coast. Things there were tough at times, but also bittersweet and special. I’m extraordinarily grateful for my time there. ⁣
⁣
When I wasn’t with family, I took a lot of solo hikes in the woods. Sometimes I’d even take off my shoes and dip my feet in a creek, just to feel more connected to nature. It was grounding. It was calming. And I felt a deep sense of peace even with everything stressful that’s going on.⁣

I’ve been quiet on here for over a week. Things

I’ve been quiet on here for over a week. Things have been...all over the place...for a while.⁣
⁣
The past month traveling in our van was good. Really good. We rode epic trails and paddled over half a dozen different lakes and rivers. We drank coffee/tea on the beach. We swam in cool alpine lakes. And my IG has looked like an REI ad to prove it 😂⁣
⁣
But I admittedly have not felt in alignment as much as I’ve wanted. My family’s been struggling. Turns out dealing w/ cancer + Covid at the same time effing sucks.⁣
⁣
Like just about every other human being on the planet right now, 2020 has brought up some weird stuff for me. Stuff I never would’ve anticipated, and that’s not even speaking about the pandemic. And it hasn’t been easy.⁣
⁣
So I finally decided to reach out for some help. ⁣
⁣
I was hesitant at first. I mean, now that I’m a coach, I should be able to coach myself, right?⁣
⁣
But when I thought about it I realized, even the greatest leaders get coached. Even the strongest struggle some days. Big names like Brooke Castillo and @amyporterfield have coaches. Even the lead instructor from my coach training program, @transformcoachingacademy (who has been coaching for 20 years!) has a coach!⁣
⁣
I deserve help. I deserve to feel good. I deserve to be supported so I can show up as a light for the world.⁣
⁣
I’m here to tell you that YOU DESERVE THE SAME.⁣
⁣
2020 has sucked for a lot of us, but you don’t have to suffer. Reach out. Talk to a friend. Find a coach. Go to a therapist. Get whatever help you need (and deserve) to THRIVE.⁣

And it’s also ok to ask for help. The world needs you. You woke up this morning because you still have a purpose on this planet. You have gifts you were meant to share.⁣

How do you make space for inspiration?

For me, the most powerful way to get inspired in my biz is to completely unplug in nature - preferably off the grid (out of cell range!) if possible. And no music, no podcasts, no distractions of any kind.

I’ve learned that taking this time for ME is so much more effective than anything I can do in my office to pump up the inspiration. And I come back bursting with ideas and ready to rock! I’m SO much more productive, too.

It sounds so simple, but this might be best business hack you’ve never heard any of the gurus talk about. Trust me, it works!!

Sometimes it can be easy to get sucked into thinking about what you don’t have, and forget how good you really have it.

Last night, Brian started swooning over a campervan parked near us that had a slide-out compartment and an a/c unit on top. Petty soon he’d spent 2 hours on YouTube dreaming of all the snazzy features you can get in a van - an indoor shower, a bed that raises and lowers electronically, a freezer, all the bells and whistles. And I was into it too... imagine road tripping to humid South and sleeping in the cool air conditioning... with ice cream on board!

But this morning we woke up to a bluebird sky, with this gorgeous view. We sat with our tea and coffee, soaking up the sun in our camp chairs, listening to the birds sing around us. And we remembered just how good we already have it. Being able to live out of our van for a month with no agenda or schedule feels like the ultimate luxury. It doesn’t matter how fancy our rig is, this freedom is 100% priceless.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to want more or dream bigger. But sometimes when we do this, we forget how good we’ve already got it.

So wherever you are, whatever your dream - take time to just be grateful for how far you’ve already come, what you’ve already achieved, and all the goodness you’ve already attained.

I believe that tuning into this gratitude brings more great things into our lives. But if nothing else, giving thanks for what you already have just makes life that much sweeter.

There are a bunch of new faces around here, so I thought I’d introduce myself for those of you who are new!⁣

I’m Julia Taylor, creator of Aligned Adventure. I’m a wanderlusting, adventure-chasing mountain girl from Colorado. I’m in love with entrepreneurship, passionate about personal growth and spirituality, and just a *little* obsessed with the power of our minds, emotions, and energy.⁣
⁣
In 2014 I started my entrepreneurial journey after becoming miserable in my 9-5. I tried a TON of different things to make it work, but I was often clocking 12-hour days or doing things that drained my energy.⁣
⁣
Then In 2017, life threw me a big fat curveball when my mom and I were BOTH diagnosed with cancer the same month. Crazy right??⁣
⁣
It was a huge wake-up call and I resolved to stop living my life for other people and start doing ONLY the things that lit me the eff up. 🔥 I wanted to make my time on this planet count, and no matter if I had 5 years left or 50, I wanted to feel wildly fulfilled and happy at the end.⁣
⁣
Since then my #1 WHY in everything I do has been about FREEDOM. Thanks to my ever-evolving and growing business, but more importantly to my major mindset shifts, I’ve 100% achieved that freedom - even right now in the middle of these strange and unpredictable times.⁣
⁣
Although we probably won’t be able to paddle Lake Louise this summer, my hubby and I still get to explore and adventure with total freedom of time and location (well almost! 😂). Today we packed up our camper van and hit the road. We’re not sure all the places we’re going or exactly how long we’ll be gone, and that feels amazing!⁣

I’m so thankful to be able to do this. I don’t share all this to brag, but rather to tell you - if this is possible for me, it’s possible for you! You have the power inside of you to create everything that YOU want, and do the things that LIGHT YOU UP.⁣
