This post is LONG overdue, as I’ve had some personal challenges come up in 2017 that kept me away from the blog. But I am pleased to finally be getting to it and to be sharing with you the results of my promise to donate a portion of my sales to Protect our Winters.

Back in mid-November, I wrote about my frustrations with how it feels like hardly anyone is doing anything to fight climate change any more, and yet the world just keeps getting warmer. I wanted to do something to make a difference, so I found a non-profit organization that I felt is aligned with the interests of myself AND my customers.

Protect Our Winters’ goal is to mobilize the outdoor sports community to be leaders in positive climate action. They focus on educational initiatives, political advocacy and community-based activism. With the outdoor sports industry’s $646 billion in economic revenue, they have an influential voice that crosses party lines, and the potential to reach 60 million+ outdoor sports enthusiasts globally. POW is an organization that has become near and dear to my heart.

I am pleased to announce that I was able to donate $628.77 to POW, which was 10% of my sales from November 21 – December 31, 2017. I honestly had no idea how much I’d be able to donate since this business is still relatively new and I’ve only just made it my primary focus in the last 6 months. I was blown away by my success throughout the holiday season, and extremely proud of what I was able to contribute to POW.

Thank you!

So I want to say thank you to all of you who supported my dream of not only owning a successful small creative business, but contributed to the resolution of an issue that should matter to all of us, no matter where we stand politically. We only have one planet earth, and we need to protect her to make sure that future generations can live a safe, healthy, and enjoyable life. Thank you for joining me in the fight for her!

XO, Julia
